Government of Canada Announces New Patent Initiative to Help SMEs Reap the Full Benefits of IP

Last week, the Government of Canada announced a call to launch a new patent initiative to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to reap the full benefits of IP to expand their businesses and become more competitive. The new initiative includes $30 million in funding over four years to create a non-profit organization to work with SMEs in a selected sector to help them use their IP more strategically.
