CIPO to Increase of Fees for Industrial Designs

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office has announced that, effective January 1st, 2020, the fees for certain services associated with geographical indications or industrial design applications and registrations will increase. Specifically, for industrial designs, the fees for examination, maintenance, reinstatement and advanced examination will increase by 2.2%. Similarly, the fee for a request for the protection of a geographical indication will also increase by 2.2%. The revised fees for industrial designs are available here.
