Nik focuses on developing strategic patent portfolios with a particular emphasis on electrical, computer and software related technologies. Example technologies that he works on include medical imaging systems, medical devices, optical projectors, optoelectronics, system-on-chip technologies, artificial intelligence software, audio and video processing hardware and software, telecommunications, oil and gas systems, electrical power supplies and building construction technologies. Nik additionally advises on other patent matters such as patentability, infringement, validity and freedom to operate.

Nik graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. Prior to studying law, Nik obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with Distinction also from the University of British Columbia. Nik is a registered patent agent and trademark agent.
